• Welcome! My name is Michael Hannum and I’m happy you’re here. Move for Our Living Planet is a decade-long experiment in what I call “mindful movement conservation“.

Since April 28, 2019, I have practiced Yoga every single day as part of completing mindful movement ceremonies (more than 2,700 consecutive days of practice as of September 18th, 2026). My aim is that each and every Mindful Movement Ceremony I complete is directly connected to an act of conservation. So far I’ve supported the planting of 3,820 mangrove trees and 46 corals and the removal of 64kg of ocean-bound plastics while also taking 39 ocean advocacy actions and helping to fund 5 ocean conservation campaigns (updated: Sept. 2026).

Move for Our Living Planet is my own unique way of exploring the path of engaged spirituality at the intersection of mindful movement, conservation, and education. My intention with this experiment is to participate through mindful movement and compassionate action in the healing and restoration of our living planet. (more)
